Paint our Town
Volunteers clean community Mundo Nuevo and
Jando Guedea Parks

On Saturday, January 23, 1020, over 41 volunteers from several groups that included  Kickapoo Prevention & Intervention Program, staff from Precinct 4, Eagle Pass High, Americorps Texas, Seco Mines Community Center, Eagle Pass Junior High, Robert E. Lee, Liberty, Glass and Graves Elementary schools assisted in tackling gang related graffiti around the Mundo Nuevo and Jando Guedea Parks areas close to downtown.

Border Patrol Agent and War on Drugs Program Coordinator Erika Rodriguez informed the volunteers that there is a definite rise in gang related "taggings" and for everyone to keep vigilant of our neighborhoods and call local police to report any vandalism activities because taggers will go to prison.

Volunteers are reminded to participate in the upcoming "Downtown Trash-Bash" on Saturday, February 6, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the IBC Bank downtown location.

This community wide event is being organized to beautify the downtown areas for the upcoming Eagle Pass visit of Texas First Lady Anita Perry to commemorate our town's re-certification into the Texas Historical Commission's Main Street Program.
